Amid heightened security measures, the match between Nea Salamina and AEK will take place on Sunday at the “Famagusta Return” stadium, following recent incidents of tension between fans of the two teams.
The police’s operational plan for the match has been in effect since Saturday evening, with the aim of ensuring the match proceeds safely and smoothly.
According to information from KYPE, all necessary measures have been taken and are being implemented both inside the stadium and in the surrounding areas.

As part of the operational plan, riot control units from other districts have been deployed as reinforcements, and an anti-riot vehicle is also at the police’s disposal.
At the same time, traffic arrangements and road closures have been implemented with the aim, to the extent possible and given the stadium’s location, of preventing and deterring any encounter between fans of the two teams.
Security measures will continue throughout the day, with the police on operational standby to ensure the match proceeds smoothly.
