As part of the activities of the Aliens and Immigration Service (YAM) to locate and arrest individuals residing illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, a coordinated operation was carried out today in the Nicosia district.
During the operation, a total of 41 third-country nationals who were residing illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus were located and arrested.

Sixteen (16) of these individuals have already been deported to their countries of origin, while the remaining 25 were transferred to a reception center. In cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection, procedures for their return and repatriation are expected to be initiated.
From the beginning of the year to date, a total of 6,370 individuals residing illegally in the Republic have been repatriated through forced and voluntary return procedures.
