Government announcements bring a new "breath of fresh air" for families

Just a few hours before the first bell rang in secondary schools, the government announced significant changes to its family support policy. The focus is on increasing and expanding the child allowance, with Nikos Christodoulidis announcing new maximum income limits set at 90,000 euros for families with three children and 100,000 euros for those with four children.

This reform is expected to include an additional 17,000 families among the beneficiaries, covering a total of more than 23,000 children.

“Meanwhile, as we decided for 2025, there are no income criteria whatsoever for families with five or more dependent children.”
Nikos Christodoulides – President of the Republic

Changes that, according to him, are expected to provide significant relief to middle-class families by making it easier for them to access government support.

“Our decision addresses long-standing distortions, the most significant of which is the failure to discontinue support in cases of a slight increase in family income.”

At the same time, the tuition subsidy for children up to four years and four months of age is being expanded. This measure benefits approximately 2,000 families and 2,800 children.

“Further strengthening support for new parents and families. Thanks to our consistent and serious approach, the strong and growth-oriented trajectory of our economy allows us to implement targeted policies in education, health, and the welfare state—policies that have a tangible social impact and bring about a clear improvement in citizens’ daily lives.”
Nikos Christodoulides – President of the Republic

According to the President, the government’s primary goal remains to boost citizens’ disposable income and ensure that the benefits of economic growth are shared by society.
