Omonia needs to “restart” the season very quickly. The two points lost against Omonia Aradippou (0-0) in the season opener of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan, combined with the loss to Paphos (0-1) in the Super Cup, make a fresh start within the “clover” ranks a necessity.
Omonia faces Aris at “Alphamega Stadium” (8:00 p.m., Sept. 7), bringing the second matchday of the Championship to a close, with the three points meaning more than just a simple victory. In the event of another loss of points, the “Greens” will face Apollon next Saturday (September 12, 8:00 p.m.) at GSP Stadium, while on September 16 they will kick off the League Phase of the Europa League, hosting Celta.
With the schedule for the next two weeks being particularly demanding, Henning Berg must find solutions and lead his team to morale-boosting victories, both for the challenging stretch of the league season ahead and for the start of their European campaign.
