The fire that broke out on Monday morning in a forested area of Argaka has been contained.
According to a report from the Forestry Department, the fire was detected at 9:30 a.m. by a Forestry Department fire lookout, and the forest firefighting teams’ first response took place just four minutes later.
The fire broke out on state-owned forest land and, according to preliminary estimates, affected an area of approximately 0.5 decares.
Ground-based forest firefighting forces were mobilized at the scene and worked to contain and isolate the fire.
As the operation progressed and the fire was contained, the use of aerial resources was deemed unnecessary.
