Kyriakos Dimitriou expressed his satisfaction with the victory and AEK’s performance in the first games of the season while speaking to “Super Sport 104.” The “yellow-and-green” team’s press officer highlighted the lopsided score, the strengthening of the roster, and the team’s room for improvement, while also mentioning Tsakon’s return. At the same time, he turned his attention to the upcoming challenging match against Paphos, emphasizing that AEK must put forth its best performance and take advantage of its home-field advantage.
On the victory and the margin of victory: “The most important thing is that we’ve been particularly effective in the first two games. Since we converted our chances into goals in the first half, that allowed us to control the game and increase our lead.”
On the fans: “Why wouldn’t the fans be convinced? The key is to keep it up. It’s about finding ways to get the result and building on our successes. We know we still have room for improvement. We’re still far from ideal. We still need to integrate the new players. We’re moving forward; we’re not resting on our laurels.”
On whether he considers the roster complete: “With the latest additions, we believe the team has no shortage of options, quality, and solutions across all positions. I feel this is one of AEK’s strongest rosters in recent years. I believe we have options across all positions. We want the roster to help the team achieve its goals. We’ve given our coach options at every position. The thing is, since we made some moves a bit later in the process and you can’t take risks, we have to use our time wisely. It’s important to keep winning until they’re fully integrated. That’s what’s needed.”
Looking ahead: “We’ll take the positives with us, and starting tomorrow we’ll focus on the match against Paphos, which has the same goals as our team. We need to put our best foot forward, take advantage of our home field, and get the result we need.”
On Tsakon: “He’s a player who’s returned and will pick up where he left off. He’s fully recovered from his injury. He, too, is among the players who still need time—it’s not just the new signings. That’s why we believe there’s still room for improvement.”
