Hansy Flick has begun to carve out a place for himself among Barcelona’s pantheon of top coaches thanks to his achievements.
Following the commanding victory in Valencia (0-5), the German coach became the first manager in Barcelona’s history to lead his team to first place in LaLiga across all matchdays.
Now in just his third season with the Catalan club, Flick reached 60 matches with “Barça” leading the league, breaking the record set by the legendary Johan Cruyff.
The late Dutchman had his team in first place for 59 matchdays, but over eight seasons as head coach, he won the league title four times.
In contrast, Flick, who already has two league titles as Barcelona’s coach, has kept his team in first place for 60 of the 80 matchdays he has been at the helm in LaLiga.
