Gate 7 issued a statement on Monday evening (September 7) addressed exclusively to José Luis Medilibar.
The organized fans of Olympiacos initially expressed their respect and affection for the Basque coach, however, they made it clear that for quite some time now, the team’s performance has not been up to par, holding him accountable for his responsibilities.

At the same time, the statement notes that the “Red-and-Whites” are “a team built to play offensively” and that the team’s current style of play is predictable and one-dimensional, emphasizing that this year’s championship must not be lost.
Finally, they made it clear that: “There’s no room for sentimentality, and we’re all judged by our results—but also by how we achieve them.”
The full statement reads:
“Mr. Mendilibar
, under your guidance, our OLYMPIACOS wrote the most glorious chapter in its history and turned a wild dream into reality!
You have our RESPECT and LOVE, and the history of Olympiacos has inscribed your name in golden letters!
But for quite some time now, our Olympiacos hasn’t been what it should be—especially in Greek league matches!
Every game turns into a derby, even against the smallest opponent!
We’re predictable and one-dimensional!
Our LEGEND is a team born to attack and overwhelm the opponent!
You haven’t found the solutions to make our team look the way it did when it won the EUROPEAN title, just as we did throughout our 100-year history, when we RAVAGED our opponents with 6-0 and 4-0 wins and clinched the DOUBLE!
It is FORBIDDEN to give away this year’s championship!
We DON’T know what might happen from here on out, or what the future holds for us, but at Olympiacos there’s no room for sentimentality, nor are we interested in the PR aspect— We’re all about deeds and actions, and we’re all judged by our results—but also by how we achieve them!
We celebrate and honor the past, but we do NOT dwell on it—and that’s why we’re the greatest multi-sport club on the planet!
P.S. 1: THRYLE, another strong championship run!
P.S. 2: Olympiacos above all!
