Two years after Alpha’s on-site inspection at Vergina High School, the situation there remains unacceptable.
The footage from September 27–29, 2024, shown in the video below, captured the extremely poor condition of Vergina High School. There were many problems, both inside and outside the school. A telling example, even of the simplest kind, is a basketball hoop that lay on the ground, with no one having bothered to pick it up or fix it. In fact, two years later, the situation remains the same—and has actually gotten worse.

Speaking on the Alpha Kalimera program, the Deputy Director of Secondary General Education, George Koutsidis, stated that instructions and sufficient funds had been provided to the school administration to address the issues that had arisen.
“As Deputy Director, I pledge to be at the school tomorrow to review the issues in person once again with the Tax Office. I hope they will respond to me. I have a good working relationship with the Tax Office, I can say. I’ll do my best; I’ll be at the school.”
