Tassos Bakasetas will continue his career at APOEL, with the signing of the Greek national team captain being one of the most significant moves of the summer.
According to Sportime.gr, Panathinaikos had decided not to retain the Greek attacking midfielder even before the arrival of Jacob Nystrup.
Financial considerations played a significant role in finalizing the deal. According to the report, Yiannis Alafouzos paid approximately 1.8 million euros in compensation to Bakasetas, out of the approximately 2 million euros stipulated in his contract for this season.
Thus, the “blue-and-yellows” only had to cover the difference to finalize the deal and secure the international star.
