Students at Vergina High School are boycotting their classes, protesting the conditions at the school and demanding immediate solutions to problems that, they claim, have persisted for years.
The issue has returned to the forefront, as images from the school show damage, problems with the facilities, and an environment that is causing serious concern among students and parents.

However, speaking on the Alpha Kalimera program, the President of the Larnaca School Board, Gianna Nikolaou, maintained that the projects were planned in anticipation of the school operating as a sports school.
It should be noted that the school building is in a deplorable condition. The walls, eroded by time and the elements, are in danger of collapsing. Others have been blackened for years by mold and dampness. Peeling plaster, rusty railings, and floors with holes clearly make this space a dangerous environment for learning.
The school was built about 25 years ago and has never undergone a complete renovation since then, with the result that the wear and tear of time is more than evident in many places.
The faucets alone bear witness to the neglect the building has suffered. It is literally a health hazard, posing a daily threat to the students’ very health.
At the back of Vergina High School, the scene resembles an abandoned building more than a schoolyard. Trash and overgrown vegetation make up the landscape.
Sports Field… “Meadow”
The scene is similar at the school’s athletic field, whose facilities are also in need of immediate repair.
Kostas Kostas- Organized Parents: Vergina High School is the district’s sports high school and is perhaps the only sports high school that lacks athletic facilities for students to exercise.
