Washington welcomed the defense cooperation between Greece and Israel in the wake of the signing of the agreement on the development of the “Achilles Shield.”
Responding to a question from the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) regarding the agreement and the strengthening of Greek-Israeli defense cooperation, a State Department spokesperson stated that “The United States welcomes the cooperation between Greece and Israel, which advances our shared security goals.”

The U.S. statement follows the signing in Tel Aviv of an intergovernmental agreement, totaling 3.035 billion euros, for the development of a multi-layered air defense and anti-ballistic system, which will also provide protection against unmanned aerial vehicles.
