U.S. President Donald Trump said yesterday, Wednesday, that he expects the war in Iran to end after the U.S. midterm elections in November and once again threatened to attack facilities linked to Iran’s nuclear program.
“I believe the war will stop immediately after the elections because they can’t take it anymore. They are making desperate attempts to influence the election,” Trump told reporters.
In the past, the U.S. President has repeatedly referred to the imminent end of the war, which broke out on February 28 following U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran.
Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reported in an article that senior White House advisers, including Vice President Jay D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have warned Trump in private conversations that the conflict is likely to continue throughout his term, which ends in January 2029.

Trump also stated that the U.S. military might strike Mount Picax in Iran, a heavily fortified underground facility near the Natanz nuclear plant.
“We’re seeing some activity at Picax. I would advise Iran not to try to be clever, because we will be forced to strike them very hard,” the U.S. President emphasized in his speech during the Republican convention.
