Larnaca Airport is on red alert, where police intervened on a flight that was about to depart for Italy, removing the passengers from the aircraft and launching an investigation.
As reported by Alpha’s correspondent in Larnaca, Katerina Ioannou, initial unofficial reports indicate a bomb threat, which led to the mobilization of authorities and the activation of all standard protocols.
Specifically, there appears to have been a bomb threat on a Wizz Air aircraft, and as part of the investigation into this information received at Larnaca Airport, the prescribed protocols were activated, passengers were escorted to a secure area of the airport, and searches were initiated.
However, further information will be provided once the investigation is complete.
It should be noted that the aircraft was preparing to depart from Larnaca for Rome when the police intervened.
