Potential disciplinary offenses and various issues related to the administration and operation of the Cyprus Shooting Federation have arisen, according to the Ethics and Sports Protection Committee, in connection with the findings regarding a possible violation of provisions concerning competitions held with the participation of athletes who did not possess the required medical certificates.
According to a related announcement, the Committee has received the findings regarding a possible violation of the provisions of Law 180(I)/2017.
“Potential disciplinary offenses and various issues related to the administration and operation of the federation have come to light, regarding which a letter was sent to the Cyprus Sports Organization, for any further action,” the statement reads.
In the announcement, the Committee also notes that it has received the findings and relevant supporting documentation regarding potential criminal offenses, which emerged following an investigation into complaints against the Pan-Cyprian Amateur Boxing Federation.
“The findings and supporting materials were handed over to the heads of the Legal Service, Giorgos Savvides and Savvas Angelides, by the Chair and Vice Chair of the Ethics and Sports Protection Committee,” it is noted.
It is reported that the material will be reviewed by officials of the Republic’s Legal Service to determine how to proceed.
