Andreas Christou, 85, has passed away. He had been seriously injured in a traffic accident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Anthoupoli refugee settlement.
According to the evidence currently under review, at around 3:45 p.m., while a car driven by a 38-year-old man was reversing in Archbishop Makarios Square, under circumstances that are under investigation, it struck the 85-year-old man, who was walking behind the vehicle at the time.

The 85-year-old was transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where he was being treated in critical condition.
The Lakatamia Police Station is continuing its investigation.
