Ahead of tomorrow’s (9/12) derby against APOEL at “Antonis Papadopoulos” Stadium for the third matchday of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan, Anorthosis wanted to inaugurate the new giant screens at its stadium by displaying the live TV feed of the match on them, as well as replays of key plays
However, the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) put a stop to this initiative, citing the League Regulations and the relevant provisions governing the use of audiovisual material and television rights inside stadiums during during matches.
Naturally, the federation’s negative response did not please “Kyriá,” which sees a significant investment of its own going to waste, for an initiative that poses no problem and has become standard practice at many modern European stadiums.
The Famagusta team will pursue the matter further, aiming to find a “middle ground” so that it can make use of the technological equipment.
