The first EuroLeague Super Cup is a reality and will take place on September 18–19 in Abu Dhabi. An event that was the subject of much debate even before it took place, with questions raised about whether it should be held in the United Arab Emirates due to the ongoing conflict and unrest in the wider region.

Consequently, the teams were concerned both for their own safety and for the safety of everyone involved, with the Euroleague even issuing a statement denying any reports regarding the postponement of the Super Cup.
