Tassos Hatzigiovannis bid farewell to Omonia after a year with the club, expressing his gratitude for his time with the “Greens.” OFH’s new star emphasized that, although he stayed for just one season, it was enough to leave a mark that will last forever.
Here’s what he had to say: “Sometimes it’s very difficult to find the right words to say goodbye to people and a place that, in such a short time, have become so important to you.
Today is the time to say a big ‘thank you’ to Omonia.
Just one year, but a year full of moments that will stay with me forever. Smiles, emotions, great victories, difficult moments—but above all, a unique team and a group of people I’ll always hold dear in my heart.
I had the honor of being part of a truly special team. A team that made history, broke records, won the championship, and had a season that will forever be etched in Cypriot soccer history.
Together, we experienced European nights, great moments, and emotions that are hard to put into words. The Conference League, the Europa League, and so many moments I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
But the most important part of this year for me is you.
The Omonia family. Its people.
I could never have imagined that in just one year I would feel so much love. From day one until today, you’ve embraced me, supported me, and made me feel like one of your own.
It may have been only one year, but for me, it was enough to leave a mark that will last forever.
I’m leaving proud of what we’ve accomplished, grateful for the experiences I’ve had, and, above all, happy to have met people who will remain in my life.
To my teammates, the club staff, and everyone who stood by us, a huge THANK YOU.
And to you, the Omonia fans, a THANK YOU that truly will never be enough.
THANK YOU for making me feel like I was one of you.”
