Digital evidence incriminates the doctor: She took a photo of Mazonakis while he was unconscious on the machine

He deleted it before going to the police station
ALPHANEWSLIVE

Protothema.gr reveals new, shocking details about the death of Giorgos Mazonakis, as well as what transpired from the moment the blood-letting procedure began.

As all indications suggest, the couple of doctors, Ioanna Gaka and her husband, Ilias Theodoropoulos, attempted to obscure the facts and shift any blame for the popular singer’s death. This proves that they had begun to fabricate evidence, took a photograph of him while he was unconscious, and attempted to destroy incriminating evidence.

Ioanna Gaka, who holds a degree from Hawaii—as stated by the Mazonakis family’s attorney—took a photo of the singer while he was in cardiac arrest. She sent it to her husband, who was drinking coffee at a café in Kolonaki, and deleted the photo before going to the police station. However, the police managed to recover it from her cell phone.

The sequence of events

On that fateful day, September 9, George Mazonakis arrived at the Stem Cell clinic at 11 Karneadou Street in Kolonaki at 1:55 p.m., according to the testimony of the taxi driver who transported him.

As already confirmed by the photographic evidence, the singer began the procedure 42 minutes later

At 14:14:10, the machine began operating and stopped at 14:57:00.

At 14:45:22, Gaka takes a photo of Mazonakis, who is unconscious. His eyes are closed; he is wearing a yellow short-sleeved T-shirt and has an IV catheter inserted in his right arm and, as can be seen, in his left as well. He is covered from the waist down with a blanket. His head is turned to the right, and his eyes are closed.

At 14:57:00, the machine shuts down.

Ioanna Gaka sends the photo and a message to her husband, who was at a café in Kolonaki at that time. He leaves in a hurry and returns to the clinic.

As the doctor later tells the paramedics, he administers an injection of adrenaline and performs CPR on Mazonakis.

4:21 p.m.: A call is made to EKAΒ.

16:24: The first EKAΒ paramedic arrives. Shortly thereafter, the ambulance arrives and transports him to Elpis at 16:45.

5:40:00 p.m.: The singer is pronounced dead at Elpis Hospital

7:09:13 p.m.: Gaka deletes the photo of Mazonakis from her cell phone before being taken to the police station.

At 7:45 p.m., the couple arrives at the Kypseli Police Station.

Photo—evidence from the machine’s operation on the fateful day

Meanwhile, protothema reveals a piece of evidence from the Stem Cell clinic in Kolonaki, where Giorgos Mazonakis suffered a cardiac arrest. The document confirms that the singer—contrary to the claims made by Ilias Theodoropoulos and Ioanna Gaka — had begun the plasmapheresis procedure at approximately 2:15 and it lasted for 42 full minutes.

In the photograph taken from the “INUS PHERESIS” machine’s software, which was recovered by the authorities, it appears that on September 9—a fateful day for the singer—the machine began operating at 14:14:10 and remained in operation for 42 full minutes.

“They misled
us; we never saw any plasmapheresis machines.”

Polytimi Leonardou, head of the Athens Medical Association’s team during the on-site inspection at the Karnadou clinic—where Giorgos Mazonakis was found on the fateful day—speaking to SKAI.

Specifically, Ms. Leonardou, who inspected the clinic in question following the artist’s death and is one of the individuals who drafted the relevant report, said that the Athens Medical Association had recommended that the doctors in question remove not the plasmapheresis machine, but rather a centrifuge that had been reported to be operated by the clinic’s internist.

“We hadn’t seen a plasma exchange machine,” the ISA member noted, adding: “The Medical Association had not seen them and was unaware of them; it was misled by those specific doctors and their legal advisor, who claimed that he himself had come to submit a report to us regarding new machines, stating that an attachment had been added to an existing machine, without specifying which machine it was. During a second inspection conducted in 2025, neither the plasma removal machine nor the attachment was found.”
