Unwilling to make excuses, Imanol Alguacil addressed Olympiacos’s loss to OFI in his debut on the “red-and-white” bench.
The Spanish coach acknowledged the difficulties and the fans’ disappointment, emphasizing that while the time to work with the team is limited, the roster has the quality to perform significantly better.
Despite the negative start, he sent a message of hard work and determination, with the goal that by the end of the season, Olympiacos fans will feel proud of their team.
“First of all, there are no excuses. We tried really hard; we weren’t bad at the start. Then we ran into trouble. I completely understand how the fans feel when they see the team unable to win at home. The fans aren’t happy with a draw, nor with a narrow 1-0 victory.
I don’t want to make any excuses. Time is indeed very short. We have a great roster. It wouldn’t be dignified for the coach of such a great team to look for excuses. “I’ll keep working to improve things so that by the end of the season, the Olympiacos fans can be proud of the team,” he explained in detail.
