On Sunday, the Aliens and Immigration Service (YAM) on Sunday during an operation in the districts of Larnaca, Limassol, and Paphos. From the beginning of 2026 to date, a total of 6,460 individuals have been deported or repatriated to their countries of origin.
According to a police statement, the operation was carried out as part of the YAM’s efforts to locate and arrest individuals residing illegally in the Republic.

For 12 of those arrested, deportation and repatriation proceedings are scheduled to take place later today, while the remaining 27 were transferred to a detention center.
In cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection, procedures for their repatriation to their countries of origin are expected to be initiated, according to the report.
