Untaxed tobacco products were found and seized by police officers in Paphos following a search of a 21-year-old’s residence.
Specifically, as part of an investigation into a tip, at around 8:30 a.m. today, police officers conducted a search of the 21-year-old’s residence. Inside the residence, they found 73 cartons of cigarettes of various brands, four cartons of heated tobacco devices, a total of six kilograms of tobacco, and a total of eleven kilograms of hookah tobacco.
Since the tobacco products found did not bear the required markings and security features, suspicions arose that they were duty-free goods, leading police officers to proceed with his arrest.
The Paphos City Central Police Station took over the investigation of the case, in cooperation with the Paphos Customs Department.
