Neymar essentially announced Felipe Coutinho’s transfer to Santos before the Brazilian club made an official statement.
The Santos captain publicly welcomed the 34-year-old midfielder posting a video on social media in which Coutinho appears alongside the team’s players and coaching staff.
“We’re very happy to have you here. Our team and our fans will welcome you with open arms,” Neymar said, welcoming his compatriot to Santos, where Rodinei now also plays.
In doing so, the Brazilian star essentially confirmed the upcoming partnership between the two players, even though Santos has not yet made an official announcement.
Coutinho has been a free agent since last February, when he ended his contract with Vasco da Gama early. Now, all signs point to him preparing for the next chapter of his career, this time wearing the Santos jersey.
