A criminal group consisting of Israelis and individuals of Arab descent is involved in the import and trafficking of large quantities of narcotics into Cyprus from Israel, using luxury yachts in marinas and ports in either Limassol or Larnaca. This was the subject of a tip received by authorities that set off an alarm.
In fact, the drugs, according to the intelligence, arrive camouflaged in packages of construction materials and sanitary supplies and are then transported to two houses used as warehouses for distribution to Israelipermanent residents of Cyprus.
An operation was launched
Immediately after evaluating the information, the Cyprus Anti-Narcotics Agency (YKAN) and the Cyprus Anti-Drug Agency (YDAP) launched an operation, tracking down the four suspects and placing them under surveillance.
In fact, based on the information provided and investigated, 70 kilograms of narcotics arrived a week ago via the port of Limassol, which were subsequently transported and hidden in the two homes of the arrested individuals in Moutagiaka and Ypsona.

What was found
During a search of the home of a 53-year-old Israeli man in Ypsona, in the presence of the man himself, his 51-year-old wife, and a 50-year-old Palestinian man, 34 grams of cocaine, 246.5 grams of ketamine, 15 grams of mephedrone, 12 grams of MDMA, €4,150 in cash, 42 packs of untaxed cigarettes, cell phones, and other evidence.
At a second residence, where a 50-year-old Palestinian man lives in Mouttagiaka, in the presence of the man and his 35-year-old wife, a large quantity of ketamine was discovered, with a total gross weight of 126 kilograms and 630 grams. The substance was hidden inside 13 paint cans so that it would not be easily detected.
The four suspects were subsequently arrested pursuant to court warrants and brought before the court, with the police requesting that they be held in custody for eight days. The defense attorneys did not object to the request, while the suspects have made claims that are currently being investigated.
