A record number of participants was recorded for the “Creation and Initial Development of Internationally Oriented Startups (PRE-SEED)” program of the Research and Innovation Foundation (IDEK).
As IDEK stated in a press release today, the the proposal submission process for Call PRE-SEED/0526 of the IdEK program “Creation and Initial Development of Internationally Oriented Startups (PRE-SEED).”

A total of 284 proposals were successfully submitted through IDEK’s e-Services Portal, IRIS, setting a participation record for the program.
This particularly high level of participation, it notes, is a significant indication of the momentum building in Cyprus’s startup sector, as more and more teams and companies seek to transform innovative ideas into products and services with the potential for international growth.
“The increased interest in the Program and the record number of proposals confirm the dynamism of Cyprus’s startup ecosystem and, at the same time, highlight the importance of continuously strengthening the opportunities available to new and innovative businesses,” the statement emphasizes.
As noted, the creation of more and appropriately targeted financing tools and support can play a decisive role in capitalizing on the business ideas being developed in the country and transforming them into sustainable businesses with international prospects.
The objective of the Program is to support the creation and initial development of startups that develop innovative products and services with the potential to penetrate the international market.
This will be followed by the proposal selection process, which, according to the RESTART Program Announcement, includes a preliminary review and scientific evaluation of the proposals.
Finally, IDEK states that it continues to actively support the development of a dynamic and competitive innovation ecosystem, creating opportunities for new business ideas and helping to transform innovation into products, services, and businesses with international prospects.
