Warning Signs for AI: Tech Giants Call for a Slowdown in Development, Trump Downplays Concerns

Experts emphasize that every new artificial intelligence model should undergo rigorous security checks before being released
ALPHANEWSLIVE

A wave of intense concern has erupted in recent days over the dangers of artificial intelligence and the uncontrollable proportions it could take on, threatening the survival of humanity. These concerns have even begun to be voiced by the tech giants themselves.

“I won’t lie to you—there are real risks. And I believe that for a long time, the industry has been lying to the public about the fact that this technology carries risks.”
Dario Amodei – CEO of “Anthropic AI”

Amodei’s concerns are shared by Sam Altman and Elon Musk, owners of artificial intelligence companies, who advocate for the need to slow down the pace of technological developmenttechnology.

Specifically, Elon Musk stated in a post on X that Dario is right.

“I agree with Dario that we need to slow down the pace of cutting-edge technology development. This has been one of the key topics of our discussions at OpenAI over the past few weeks.”
Sam Altman – Owner of OpenAI

“It doesn’t mean we should panic today. It doesn’t mean we should stop everything. I’d say it’s a warning sign. A warning sign that we need to slow down.”
Dario Amodei – CEO of “Anthropic AI”

Experts emphasize that every new artificial intelligence model must undergo rigorous safety checks before being released, in an effort to contain and control the technology.

Even the researchers working on this technology have fears about where artificial intelligence might lead, with one of the leading figures, Jacob Coxon, resigning and publicly expressing his concern.

“The people who helped found these companies and develop this technology believe there is a possibility that humanity could be wiped out. I believe that if we don’t slow down the current pace of progress, yes, there is a serious possibility that we will all die in the near future.”
Jacob Coxon – Artificial Intelligence Researcher

Donald Trump downplayed all these warnings and fears expressed by experts.

“We can put up protective barriers, we can do this and that, but I think there are a lot of negative forces bringing this up—people who shouldn’t be bringing it up—and they’re saying things that won’t happen.”
Donald Trump – President of the United States

His statements confirm the industry’s concerns, as Trump admitted that the U.S.’s goal is to lead the way in artificial intelligence.

“We’re ahead of China in artificial intelligence. We’re the most advanced country in the world. And frankly, I want it to stay that way, because whoever wins in artificial intelligence wins.”
Donald Trump – U.S. President

Even if the U.S. takes steps to restrict Artificial Intelligence, China will have to do the same, since technology there is also advancing at an incredible pace.
