The final match of the fourth round of the Italian league at the “Giuseppe Meazza” stadium between Inter and Udinese was full of incredible thrills, with the Milanese ultimately staging a remarkable comeback to secure a 5-3 victory.
The home team did not get off to a good start at all, as they found themselves down 2-0 by the 16th minute, following goals by Abankwa and Ekelenkamp, but from that point on, it was a… storm. Specifically, Augusto sparked the comeback by cutting the deficit to 2-1 in the 26th minute, while shortly afterward Barella doubled his team’s tally, equalizing and setting the first-half score at 2-2.
Inter came out for the second half with the same intensity with which they had finished the first. Within 10 minutes, Turam completed the comeback, while Esposito pushed the score to 4-2. Boni put the icing on the cake of this remarkable comeback in the 79th minute, making it 5-2, but even so, the team from Udine didn’t give up, scoring the final goal of the match when Gueye made it 5-3 in stoppage time.
Following this impressive result, Kristian Kivu’s team moved into first place with 12 points, tied with Roma, as both teams have started Serie A with perfect records. On the other hand, the visitors, who made the mistake of… taking the lead, remain low in the standings with four points.
