Santos announced the signing of Philippe Coutinho on a contract through the end of the season. The 34-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder, who has played for teams including Liverpool, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Inter Milan, will now be teammates with Neymar and Rodiney.
Coutinho has been a free agent since last February, when he ended his contract with Vasco da Gama early. He spoke about the difficult times he went through. “With the whole stadium booing me and calling for me to leave, that was really tough for me,” he said.
