Akis Mantzios will announce the roster for our national team’s opening matches in Group 2 of the Nations League’s third tier on Friday (September 18).
Our national team will begin its campaign with two away games against Montenegro (September 25 – 9:45 p.m.) and Latvia (September 28 – 7:00 p.m.).
This will be followed by two home matches at GSP Stadium against Armenia (October 2 – 7:00 p.m.) and Latvia (October 5 – 7:00 p.m.).
Ahead of the upcoming games, our national team coach is finalizing his strategy, while dealing with several absences due to injuries.
Ioannis Kousoulos was left out of the roster for Kifissia’s last game due to injury and will be sidelined for a few weeks.
Yiannis Satsias is also expected to miss the game, as he left the Panetolikos match at the OAKA against Panathinaikos with an injury.
Also sidelined due to injuries are Apollon’s Angelos Andreou and Morgan Brown, while Stelios Andreou will likely be left out of the call-ups for the same reason.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Konstantinos Laifis and Kostakis Artymatas will be among our national team coach’s selections, while the decision regarding Aris’s Charalambos Charalambous remains uncertain.
Of course, all eyes are on the possible first-time call-up of Marcus Edwards, following his decision to play for our national team.
