Valencia took the first step toward an… optimistic future on Tuesday night (September 15)!
Just a few days after parting ways with Carlos Corberán—and after the dismissal of a total of five members of the coaching and administrative staff (!)— the “Bats” celebrated their first three points of the season, winning 1-0 on the road against Alavés in La Liga’s 6th matchday!
Rioja scored the game’s only goal in the 78th minute, with Pablo Mafeo starting the match and coming off as a substitute in the 82nd minute.
As a result, Valencia reached 4 points and climbed—albeit temporarily—out of the relegation zone, while Alavés suffered its second consecutive defeat, missing the chance to move up alone into third place behind Barcelona and Real Madrid.
