As part of the ROADPOL SAFETY DAYS 2026 program and European Mobility Week, the police are conducting a campaign starting today, September 16 through September 22, 2026, an awareness and enforcement campaign, with a special focus on the safe movement of vulnerable road users, particularly pedestrians.
The campaign is being conducted simultaneously across Europe, as part of a collaboration with the European Traffic Police Network (ROADPOL), with the aim of preventing traffic collisions and raising road safety awareness.
Particular emphasis will be placed on pedestrians, as well as on factors that increase the risk of traffic accidents, such as cell phone use and distractions, dangerous or unsafe crossing of the street, failure to wear high-visibility clothing during evening hours, as well as alcohol or drug use.
Throughout the week, there will also be information and awareness-raising activities will be held, including at schools and organized groups, while the use of reflective gear by vulnerable road users will be promoted.
