It will reconvene today at 9:30 a.m., with the participation of the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Marinos Mousiouttas, the Labor Advisory Council will meet again today at 9:30 a.m. to continue discussions on the pension reform bill.
At the Council’s last meeting, on September 7, a point of contention between employers’ organizations and labor unions was the proposal to raise the retirement age.
Finance Minister Makers Keravnos, who participated in the last session, noted that fiscal balance and the sustainability of the economy should not be jeopardized by pension reform.
For his part, the Minister of Labor and Social Security reiterated that the goal is to implement the reform on January 1, 2027.
