The Pan-Cyprian Association of Cancer Patients and Friends, PASYKAF, on the occasion of its 40th anniversary of service, dedication, and support for people living with cancer and their families, held an event on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the CVAR–Severis Foundation, a special media event to present the anniversary commemorative album “40 Years Together in Life” and PASYKAF’s 35th Awareness and Fundraising Campaign.
This year marks a particularly significant milestone for PASYKAF, as it marks 40 years of continuous presence, service, and meaningful support for people living with cancer and their families. Forty years filled with faces, stories, challenges—both big and small—that have shaped the Association’s journey and identity.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the commemorative album marking PASYKAF’s 40th anniversary, which captures a significant part of this journey. It is not merely a historical record, but a collection of personal stories and a tribute to all those who believed in, contributed, worked, and stood by the Association all these years, helping to shape PASYKAF as we know it today.
Eurobank is the Official Sponsor of the 40th Anniversary Commemorative Album, supporting this publication that chronicles and highlights four decades of service, care, and social presence of PASYKAF.
The Chair of the PASYKAF Board of Directors, Dr. Anna Achilleoudi, spoke about the significance of the anniversary, noting that it is an opportunity for the Association to look back with gratitude, but above all to look forward with even greater responsibility. As she aptly noted: “As we open the next chapter of our journey and move forward with the ‘Together in Life’ 2026 Campaign, our commitment remains the same: to stand by every person who needs us, with dignity, care, and meaningful support. Forty years later, we continue together. Together in Life.”
At the same time, the 35th Awareness and Fundraising Campaign “Together in Life,” through which PASYKAF calls on Cypriot society, for yet another year, to actively support its work.
“On the journey with cancer, ‘here’ means something different for everyone.” This is the central theme of this year’s campaign, highlighting that for every person going through cancer, the need is different. “Here” can mean home care, physical therapy, transportation to treatment, pain relief, psychosocial support, or simply a presence, security, dignity, and hope. Through this concept, the Campaign highlights that the cancer journey is not the same for everyone. Every person has their own story, their own needs, and their own moments when they need support. PASYKAF’s role is to be there when needed, offering services and programs tailored to the individual and their family.
For PASYKAF, still being here—forty years later—means everything. It means four decades of consistency, care, and a meaningful presence alongside people living with cancer and their families.
PASYKAF’s Deputy Executive Director and Head of Resource Development, Ms. Sophie Christoforou, emphasized that “It is our mission to stand by people living with cancer and their families from the very first day of diagnosis and throughout their journey with the disease, offering professionalism, as well as love, warmth, and responsibility. In addition to the free services offered by the Association, we proudly operate two Palliative Care Centers: PASYKAF – EDEM in the Larnaca district, which has 15 beds, and PASYKAF – Archangel Michael in the Paphos district, with 12 beds. With your invaluable support, the Association’s multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals responded to the needs of 8,763 individuals and their families in 2025, conducting 52,072 consultations throughout Cyprus.”
Greetings were delivered, among others, on behalf of Allwyn Cyprus, the “Proud Supporter,” by Mr. Nikos Benoudakis, Marketing & CSR Manager, and the presentation of the 40th Anniversary Commemorative Album was made by Ms. Stavri Xydia, Director of Marketing & Communications at PASYKAF.
The 35th Campaign aims to raise €550,000, so that the Association can continue to offer free services and programs to people living with cancer and their families throughout Cyprus, as well as to continue developing prevention and research programs. From October 7 to 11, our campaign’s Pan-Cyprus Street Fundraiser “Together in Life” will take place at various locations across Cyprus, such as supermarkets, shopping malls, and department stores, while donations can also be made at PASYKAF offices, online via the pasykaf.org website, as well as via SMS to 7060 using the code PASYKAF 5, 3, or 1.
As part of the 35th Campaign, events will include, among others, an All-Day Television Marathon in collaboration with Alpha Cyprus and an All-Day Radio Marathon with Alpha Radio, while throughout the campaign, activities and events will be organized in all districts of Cyprus, such as children’s events, charity dinners, sports days, and cycling events. The campaign is being conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Fundraising Law of 2014, under License No. 28/2026, issued by the Ministry of the Interior for the period July 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026. All volunteers participate with an official authorization for the fundraiser, and all donations to PASYKAF are tax-deductible.
PASYKAF also extends its warmest thanks to the public for its long-standing support, to its “Proud Supporter” Allwyn Cyprus, to the Silver Ambassadors Ancoria Bank and Island Oil, to the “Strategic Partner” Cyta Business, to the “Official Promotion Sponsor” Mesimvria, to the “Communications Sponsor” Alpha Cyprus, as well as to all the supporters, volunteers, and partners who contribute to the success of the “Together in Life” Campaign.
Forty years after embarking on this journey, PASYKAF continues with the same dedication and an even greater sense of responsibility to stand by people living with cancer and their families.
