A 33-year-old man, who is suspected of a series of murders and has reportedly confessed to killing approximately 80 people during his lifetime, was arrested by authorities in Brazil as he attempted to flee while disguised as a woman.
According to the New York Post, Jorlan Alves da Silva was arrested in the state of Paraíba, in northeastern Brazil, wearing a striped dress, a long black wig, women’s sandals, and dark sunglasses, and he had also painted his fingernails.
Video footage from the operation shows police officers removing his wig, revealing his short hair, while he appears to be smiling during his arrest. According to the same reports, the 33-year-old was also holding a two-year-old child in his arms. Authorities are investigating how the child ended up with him and what his relationship to the child is.
Earlier, security forces had located and stopped a vehicle allegedly used by Jorlan and his other alleged accomplices. One person was arrested, but the 33-year-old managed to escape at the time before he was eventually located and arrested.
Police are investigating Jorlan as a suspected serial killer and believe he may have committed at least 15 homicides on behalf of criminal organizations in the last threemonths.

Claim of 80 murders under investigation
During his interrogation, the 33-year-old reportedly claimed to have killed approximately 80 people during his lifetime. According to Detective Douglas Garcia of the Metropolitan Police, Jorlan also reportedly said that he committed his first murder at the age of just 13.
He is said to have spent a total of five to six years in prison for various other offenses before being released in late May 2026.
One of the cases under investigation by authorities involves the double murder of two businessmen on August 1 in Rio Tinto. According to Detective Garcia, the 33-year-old accurately pointed out to authorities the area where one of the victims had been buried.
His alleged confession to a total of 80 murders has not been confirmed and remains under investigation by the authorities. If the claim is confirmed, Jorlan Alves da Silva will be considered the serial killer with the highest confirmed number of victims in Brazilian history. Until now, one of the most notorious cases in the country was that of Pedro Rodrigues Filho, known as the “Brazilian Dexter,” who was convicted of 71 murders, while he himself claimed to have killed more than 100 people
