Jürgen Klopp has announced a massive preliminary roster for Germany’s first four Nations League matches, which will include both games against Greece, on September 27 in Germany and on October 4 at Toumba Stadium.
The new coach of the “Panzers” has called up 44 players, dividing them into two… groups of 22, including 16 players who have yet to make their national team debut, 11 of whom are being called up for the first time.
“We don’t have an A team and a B team; we want to win all four matches ahead of us,” said Klopp, whose team will also face the Netherlands on the road (9/24) and Serbia at home (10/1).
Among those not called up are Stuttgart captain Deniz Ündav, Hoffenheim captain Oliver Baumann, and Galatasaray’s Leroy Sané. Following Manuel Neuer’s departure, Klopp is relying on Marc-André ter Stegen as his starting goalkeeper; ter Stegen is currently a starter for Ajax (on loan from Barcelona).
