Refereeing was the sole topic of discussion at the meeting between the presidents of the First Division teams and the president of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA), Charis Loizidis, which took place on Thursday afternoon (September 17) at a hotel in Limassol.
Most teams voiced strong complaints about the performance of Cypriot referees, as several significant errors have been recorded just three matchdays into the season.
During the meeting, all issues related to refereeing were brought to the table, and the referees’ conduct on the field was also discussed.
For his part, Haris Loizidis listened to the presidents’ views and defended the CFF’s efforts, emphasizing that the Federation is doing everything in its power to improve the image of Cypriot refereeing.
