Weather Forecast
A low-pressure system is affecting the island, while a weak low-pressure system will return to the region starting tomorrow.
Today, the weather will be mostly cloudy, with occasional local showers and isolated thunderstorms expected. Hail is expected during thunderstorms. From midday onward, these weather phenomena will be concentrated mainly in the mountainous areas and the eastern half of the island, where they are expected to be intense or even prolonged in some places. Late in the afternoon, the weather will improve significantly. Winds will blow mainly from the southwest to the northwest, initially light to moderate, 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, and soon generally moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort, and temporarily in the southwest, reaching very strong, 5 to 6 Beaufort. During a storm, however, winds will shift and intensify, with stronger gusts that may reach 8 to 9 Beaufort. The sea will be generally slightly rough and, at times, rough along the windward coasts. Temperatures will rise to around 31 degrees inland, around 28 on the western coast, around 29 on the rest of the coast, and around 22 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
Tonight, the weather will gradually become mostly clear with locally increased cloud cover, mainly in the west. Winds will be mainly westerly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and temporarily moderate, 4 Beaufort, on the windward coasts. The sea will be generally slightly rough, though later in the south and east it will become calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 19 degrees inland, around 21 degrees along the coast, and around 13 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.
On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, the weather in most parts of the island will be mostly clear with temporary increases in cloud cover; however, in the mountains and possibly in inland areas, clouds will develop after noon and are expected to bring isolated showers or even thunderstorms.
Temperatures will rise on Saturday and increase slightly further on Sunday, reaching levels close to seasonal norms. On Monday, no significant change in temperature is expected.
