The avant-premiere of Myrsini Aristidou’s multi-award-winning film “Hold Onto Me” was held with great success at the K-Cineplex in Nicosia.
More than 150 guests attended this special evening, including political figures, government and institutional representatives, representatives from foreign embassies, as well as figures from the worlds of culture and cinema, marking a significant moment for Cypriot filmmaking.
The evening takes on even greater significance as “Hold Onto Me” is Cyprus’s official submission for the 99th Academy Awards in the International Feature Film category, continuing its dynamic international trajectory.
The event began with a reception for the guests and culminated in the film’s official screening in Cyprus, in a particularly warm and welcoming atmosphere.
“Hold Onto Me” made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award in the World Cinema Dramatic category, and continues its festival run at major events around the world.
Starring Christos Passalis and Maria Petrova, the film tells a deeply human story about family, absence, and reunion.
In theaters at K-Cineplex locations throughout Cyprus starting September 17.
