Adding to the already chaotic situation on Tseriou Avenue is the fact that a section of the road has been one-way for nearly four months.
The camera crew from the Alpha Kalimera show and reporter Eleni Fanari were on the scene, where the situation was chaotic: Sections of the road are closed, vehicles are narrowly avoiding collisions, and pedestrians are forced to walk in the street.
Starting Monday, September 21, a section of Tseriou Street will be “temporarily” converted to one-way traffic until January 10, 2027.
According to the Municipality of Strovolos, the section being made one-way runs from its traffic-light-controlled intersection with Konstantinoupolis Street to its intersection with Charalambos Pettemeridis Street.
During the construction work, traffic on this section of the road will flow from Konstantinoupolis Street toward the center of Strovolos (toward Rodopi Street and Strovolos Avenue).
According to the Municipality, the public may use alternative routes via Charalambos Pettemeridis Street, Kantara Street, Patriarch Gregory V Street, Eleni Chr. Loizidou Street, and Macedonia Street, as well as Strovolos Avenue, in accordance with on-site traffic signs and the relevant map.
