The Deputy Ministry of Tourism has announced the nine Christmas Villages that will be open during this year’s holiday season.
According to the Deputy Ministry, it is pleased to announce that this year there will be nine “Christmas Villages” operating across all districts, specifically in Agros, Deryneia, Kakopetria, Kalopanagiotis, Kyperounta, Lefkara, Lofou, Statos-Agios Fotios, and Fikardou.
The Christmas Villages will be held from November 21, 2026, through January 6, 2027, in celebration of the upcoming holiday season.
“The selection was made following the completion of the evaluation process for applications submitted under the Grant Scheme for Community and Municipal Councils located along the ‘Heartland of Legends’ route.” The Program is a continuation of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism’s initiative to organize “Christmas Villages” in municipalities and communities—events that have been marked by success and positive feedback over the past five years,” according to the Deputy Ministry.
The selected destinations will be festively decorated and will feature wooden huts selling local products and handicrafts, hands-on workshops on crafts and food and wine, outdoor activities such as nature walks and cycling, guided tours of the villages, and other surprises. The Deputy Ministry’s ultimate goal is for the “Christmas Villages,” with their local character, to be enriched each year, so that they become a major attraction for both local and foreign visitors.
More information about the program and the activities of each “Christmas Village” will be posted on the website created specifically for this purpose.
