Despite not being at full strength, Olympiacos managed to survive yet another nail-biter and defeat Fenerbahçe 92-90 in Abu Dhabi, securing a spot in the EuroLeague Super Cup final.

After the game, the coach of the European champions, Giorgos Bartzokas, analyzed the factors that led to the victory, highlighting the readiness of both teams—and especially Olympiacos— while noting that training with only ten players at the start of the season isn’t easy.
“It’s still very early, but it’s as if we were playing in the playoffs with great passion on both sides. Fener played very well, shot very well from three-point range, and their players are excellent in isolation. Perhaps we approached the game the wrong way, and defensively we had a few lapses. Our offense gave us confidence, as we hit some big shots. No coach is a magician; it’s a matter of daily work. We coaches always need more time. Players who’ve had 10 practices want to get out there and play, but their passion is what really matters.”
