Flames and a large cloud of black smoke are rising into the sky from an area near the Riyadh airport, eyewitnesses told AFP and Reuters.
The Saudi Arabian government has not yet commented on the report.
Meanwhile, last night, residents of the Saudi Arabian capital were awakened by the sound of sirens warning of the danger of an airstrike, and a short time later, two loud explosions were heard.

This was the first time explosions were reported in Riyadh since the resurgence of clashes with the Shiite Houthi rebels in Yemen.
Recently, Saudi Arabia has been the target of escalating attacks by pro-Iranian militants who control a large part of neighboring Yemen and recently seized areas on thecountry’s western coast, on the Red Sea, driving back the forces of the internationally recognized government, which is supported by a coalition led by Riyadh.
However, the Houthis’ strikes against Saudi Arabia have so far primarily targeted oil facilities and military bases in the south or along the Red Sea coast —far from Riyadh, which had not been threatened since hostilities resumed in July.
