Aston Villa found the perfect victim and had reason to smile! Unai Emery’s team celebrated its first three points in the Premier League, defeating Tottenham 3-2 in a thrilling away match and plunging De Gerbi’s squad even deeper into despair. The home fans reacted with boos and walked out early, watching their team score for the first time in the first five matchdays and sit on just two points.
The game had an excellent pace and chances at both ends, but once again, Tottenham couldn’t convert their opportunities into goals. The visitors capitalized on this, stunning the Londoners at the end of the first half with a close-range finish by Manzabi (45’+4’).

It was more of the same in the second half, with Tottenham finally finding the back of the net through Kudus in the 60th minute, but his goal was ruled offside, leaving his team still scoreless. Seven minutes later, Jackson gave Villa a two-goal lead, and Villa capped off the scoring in the 79th minute with a goal by Buendía.
All the “Spurs” managed to do was score their first goal of the season, with Gallagher cutting the lead to 3-1 in the 86th minute, and in the final play of the match, Van Hecke made it 3-2, but there was no time left for the home team.
