The Legendary Kostoulas and Brighton’s Hat Trick Against Arsenal – First Loss for… Tzolakis

Premier League Results
ALPHANEWSLIVE

“Charalambos Kostoulas. What a soccer player”…

With this caption, Brighton celebrated the goal scored by the Greek striker, who was the undisputed star of the “Seagulls’” stunning hat trick against Arsenal. The “Greek civil war” between Kostoulas and Tzolis ended in triumph for the former, who continues to excel in the Premier League and cause… a stir. This time, the “menu” included an assist and a goal, as the “Gunners” suffered their first defeat.

Arsenal remains on 12 points, giving them the chance to pull ahead by +3, while Hasenhüttl’s team has reached 10 points, staying near the top of the standings.

Kostoulas’s party—with Arsenal as the guest—kicked off in the 31st minute, when he set up Gross for the 1-0 goal amid wild celebrations at Amex Stadium, with Babis beating Raya with a magnificent shot from outside the box and shouting… “It’s mine!” for Brighton’s 2-0 lead.

The icing on the cake came early, when Andrés made it 3-0 in the 57th minute, a score that held until the end. With Tzolis leaving the field in the 73rd minute, making way for Eze, and four minutes later, Kostoulas was substituted to make way for Ruter, with the crowd generously giving him a standing ovation on a special day: The day Brighton celebrated its 125th anniversary!

It was the first loss for Hull, which fell 2-1 at Newcastle, and the two teams are now tied in the standings with 8 points. The match for Konstantinos Tzolakis—who was once again in the starting lineup—and Christos Mouzakitis—who was left out of the squad—got off to a nightmare start. Newcastle came out firing on all cylinders, scoring two goals before the first ten minutes of the match were even up.

Willock opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, and Hall doubled the lead in the 7th minute. Things nearly got even worse for the visitors when Tzolakis was called for a penalty but got… a second chance from the 11-yard mark, saving Wissa’s shot—Wissa, who until then had never missed a penalty in the Premier League!

Hull fought back, pulling one back through Tso in the 67th minute and going all out from there on, but the score remained unchanged, and Newcastle celebrated a great victory, their second of the season.

Everton continues its strong run as well, defeating Ipswich 1-0 to reach 10 points and remain undefeated in the league. Barry broke the deadlock for the home team in the 11th minute; the same player scored a second goal in the 58th minute, which was disallowed for offside, while the visitors finished the match a man down after Fatawu was sent off for a second yellow card in the 67th minute.
