Clashes broke out today in The Hague between Dutch riot police and approximately 500 far-right protesters, who chanted anti-Semitic slogans and threw fireworks and other objects at the police.
The police, accompanied by a unit of police dogs, charged the protesters with batons to disperse them, according to Agence France-Presse reporters on the scene, after authorities had banned a planned march in the city.
Mounted police made arrests, and police used water cannons to disperse the protesters.

Justice Minister David van Veel wrote on X: “Nazi salutes, anti-Semitic slogans, violence against the police, and incendiary devices thrown at officers.” “It is important to respond firmly to this,” he emphasized.
The rally, called “We Are the People,” was organized to denounce the government’s policies, particularly regarding immigration.
The protesters had planned to march through the city, but municipal authorities banned the march after the outbreak of violence in the park where they had gathered and ordered the rally to be dispersed.
