A 22-year-old man was arrested in Nicosia after being caught driving at 100 km/h instead of the speed limit of 50 km/h.
According to the police, at around 11:45 p.m. yesterday, members of the Nicosia Traffic Police, as part of speed checks on Griva Digeni Avenue in Engomi, stopped a vehicle for inspection that was traveling at 100 km/h instead of the permitted speed limit of 50 km/h.
A check of the driver’s information revealed that he was a 22-year-old man, who was arrested on the spot for the offense.
Subsequently, the 22-year-old was formally charged in writing and then released, after being served with a summons to appear in court tomorrow, where a traffic case will be filed against him.
The Agios Dometios Police Station is investigating the case.
