Maccabi, as well as the other Israeli teams, will begin the season away from their home courts due to the conflict in the region.
The Tel Aviv team stated in a press release, however, that EuroLeague officials will soon visit the city to reassess the situation and the possibility of bringing games back to the country.
“The club’s president, Simon Mizrahi, and the athletic director, Claudio Coldebella, held an extensive meeting in Abu Dhabi with EuroLeague CEO Chus Bueno and director of competitions, Diego Guillen, regarding the return of home games to Israel for the three Israeli teams participating in EuroLeague competitions (Maccabi, Hapoel Tel Aviv, and Hapoel Jerusalem). There have been no changes; however, CEO Bueno and Director of Competitions Guillen will travel to Israel within the next two weeks for an evaluation visit, as guests of Maccabi Tel Aviv,” according to Maccabi’s announcement.
