As part of police efforts to combat poaching, members of the MMAD’s Poaching Suppression Unit conducted an operation today in the Larnaca district.
During the operation, in an area where hunting is prohibited, three sound devices mimicking the calls of wild birds were found in operation, as well as seven trapping nets.

A total of 103 wild birds were found trapped in the nets; they were alive and were released back into their natural habitat, along with 12 dead wild birds.
Investigations are underway to identify the site’s operator, while the Kofinou Regional Police Station continues its investigation.
