Mourning in the Paphos district for 16-year-old Giorgos Hatzioannou, from Agia Marina, whose life was cut short in a fatal traffic accident that occurred around 3:30 p.m. in Argaka.
According to Paphos Assistant Police Director Michalis Nikolaou, around 3:30 p.m., the 16-year-old was riding an unregistered racing motorcycle on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue in Argaka, heading west.
Under circumstances that are under investigation, the 16-year-old reportedly lost control of the motorcycle, which struck the left sidewalk—in line with its path—and then overturned.

Giorgos Hatzioannou was seriously injured and transported by ambulance to Polis Chrysochous Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A helmet was found at the scene, and authorities are investigating whether the 16-year-old was wearing it at the time of the collision.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal traffic accident are being investigated by the police.
